I decided that I am going to review restaurants outside of Utah. My first restaurant is going to be my favorite Fast Casual restaurant: Curry up now. I went to this place in its beginning as a restaurant. It did start as a truck in San Francisco though. It has gotten unusualy crowded as of late. They blast pop music and play cultural movies. Dont think of this as a restaurant that will culture shock you.
They take typical Indian plates like saag and tikka masala and put them in burritos.Just take the main un-indian foods you would find at a fast food place and make it indian(and tastier) Its curry up now! Most things on the menu are under 10 dollars and they have sides like curry fries and deconstructed samosas.
Their chais and lassis are what are expected for a cheap indian restaurant but you get what you pay for.
Also... they have Gulab Jamun. Many westerners may find the name unusual compared to "ice cream" or "doughnut holes". That is essentially what it is. They are little balls about the size of doughnut holes that have a cakey texture. But wait! Theres more! They are soaked in warm cardamom rose water which is essentially how it sounds.
Here is some food science :your nose is your mouth. The way roses smell, is the way they taste. You might notice this with citrus fruits.
Rose water is very pungent and you don't need much for your mind to be blown.
I havent had this Gulab Jamun before but it has never let me down.
