Denver Restaurants pt. 2

I love Denver. There are SO MANY FOODS you can get in Denver. I have never had better Baba Ganouj than at Ali Baba Grill in Golden. It is just a hole in the wall place in  a strip mall. They have great prices, great ambiance and a wonderful menu. I don't feel like I am in Olive Garden eating "authentic Italian food" eating here. This is a Lebanese restaurant. Let me get this straight so you aren't confused.
This isn't Greek food. It is similar, but what yelp calls Greek is actually either Turkish, Lebanese or something from that area. If you like hummus and kebabs etc., then you will like this.

This isn't Mediterranean though. Mediterranean is like Italian influence with heavy use of olive oil, it could be sun dried tomatoes pine nuts, basil, thyme, oregano, that kind of stuff.  What is wonderful about this restaurant is that they have these pies that look like kayaks stuffed with seasoned meat. If you have never had anything from this region of this world, imagine strong tasting yogurts( not Yoplait) set atop cubes of meat seasoned with spices that don't make your mouth burn, but almost have a subtly sweet charcoaly flavor. It could be thick oily dips with flatbreads (ignore everything subway has taught you). You eat with your hands at a restaurant like this. It is awesome.

I also like Sherpa House in Golden. They serve some really good Himalayan food. If you have never had yak, it is worth trying the yak saag which is basically just spicy creamed spinach with yak.
If you have never had yak, it is stringy and similar to rabbit if you have ever had that.

In Boulder, there is the Dushanbe Tea house. Boulder was sent parts for the palace by Tajikstan. It looks like something from a movie about a Sheikh. They have food from around the world and exotic teas. I love their peanut noodles. I honestly can say more about the architecture than the food but that's not to say the food isn't amazing. It's just one of those restaurants that you feel like royalty when you are eating. The Chai is also how I like it: hot and spicy. The weirdest thing is that it is in the middle of the city.

There is all sorts of cool places you can find in Denver that I can bring up later on.
